Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York NY. December 11, 2009

Dr. Neal Lehrman and Dr. Eric Linden were invited to deliver a lecture to the Faculty of Dental Oncology at MSKCC. The need for periodontal treatment prior to Bone Marrow Transplant and Chemotherapy were discussed. With the advent of LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) as an FDA-cleared protocol, immunocompromised patients have a new pathway to establish a healthy oral environment prior to undergoing these critical procedures. Indications for the need to reduce bacterial load in the oral cavity include neutropenic patients, who do not have their own ability to ward off infection, and thereby prevent tissue destruction. LANAP enables them to do so in an environment that is atraumatic and has quick turn around time for healing.

Dr Linden lectured on Laser Periodontal Surgery at the GNYDM (Greater New York Dental Meeting)

This lecture - recommended for Dentists, Hygienists, Assistants, & Students - was on Laser Periodontal Surgery. This essay-lecture focused on Laser Periodontal Surgery as a treatment modality for periodontal disease and included the science behind using an FDA-approved laser protocol.
