Neal Lehrman, DDS, MS

Meet Dr. Lehrman

Periodontist in NY

Dr. Neal Lehrman is an expert in the field of Laser Periodontal Therapy, and is the first Periodontist in NYC to be certified to perform LANAP – Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure. Dr. Lehrman has been in specialty practice since 1996.

In addition to Laser Surgery, Dr. Lehrman  performs a wide range of Periodontal and Dental Implant procedures. After a comprehensive clinical and radiographic ( digital x-ray ) examination in which Dr. Lehrman reviews your entire medical history, he will work with you to detail a specific treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. Your condition will be explained to you in concise details and your options for care will be outlined so that you can make an informed decision about your treatment.

Dr. Lehrman ’s aim is to provide the highest quality of care in a compassionate and comfortable manner. His state of the art office allows for a pleasant patient experience and his warm, easy going manner allows for maximum communication between Dr. and patient.

His clinical responsibilities go hand in hand with his research and publishing across the spectrum of periodontics and laser surgery. His philospohy is that in order to be the best clinician, one must continue to be thinking of how to move the care of patients forward in a more comfortable and effective manner.

After completing dental school at the State University at Stony Brook, Dr. Lehrman completed his training in periodontics and implantology at UMDNJ-NJDS. In the final year of his training, he also served as Chief Resident of the department.

Dr. Lehrman has spent significant time working with indigent native populations, both here and abroad. Most recently, he has spent extensive time working with Native Alaskan tribal members, diagnosing and treating periodontal and oro-facial conditions. This was done with an eye towards reconstruction and improvement of not just oral health, but overall self-esteem.

Currently, Dr. Lehrman is an amateur cellist and he hopes to perform some time in 2025. He is married to his lovely wife Elise. Together they have two children, Annie and Zeke.
